Founded as San Cristóbal de La Habana on November 16, 1519, Cuba's capital -the largest city in the Caribbean islands- has plenty to offer. Music, the dance, art, culture in general, shows and other forms of entertainment give it a surprisingly versatile personality. Old Havana, which UNESCO has declared a part of world heritage, is one of the oldest and best-preserved colonial areas in the Americas. In addition, necklaces of excellent beaches are within an hour's drive of the city, offering fantastic vacations of sun, sand and sea.
